Today I took my granddaughters to see their great grandma (GG) and Auntie Karen. Karen is the quintessential animal whisperer. I have observed her with animals and she is mesmerizing. Sort of like a magician when they finish a trick and you look at someone and say “how did she do that”? That’s Karen.
She has created as she put it a “menagerie” in her back yard of horses, a mini pony, ducks, chickens, and a pair of goats. My sister-in-law describes her pets as her happy place where she comes to collect herself after a long day of horse riding lessons and training.
It was pure joy for us to play with farm animals far from the life of suburbia. I am posting a few of the girl’s joyous moments which don’t require words, but look at the photos from the lens of the art of play. I will follow up tomorrow with my research study of play thus far and its function in our daily life.
Thanks for stopping by on our play date. Stay tuned tomorrow for Part 2 edition of the art of play and how we as individuals need to start giving it a thumbs up without hesitation. Hum…..
